Hair as Keepsake
This event takes place at Bankfield Museum
The Victorian art of hairwork involved meticulously weaving together the hair of loved ones into flowers or wreaths. Join hairdresser and conceptual artist Donna Lowson to immerse yourselves in this delicate craft, where love, loss and memory are woven strand by strand into intricate floral tributes.
In this hands on-workshop you will learn how to create your own hair flower. Welcome to a journey where each strand carries a story waiting to be told.
You will be provided with all the materials you need during the class and both real and synthetic hair will be available to use. Hot drinks are included in the ticket and will be available throughout the workshop.
Please note, this event will be held in our Education Room, which is located on the first floor of Bankfield Museum. Please contact eli.dawson@calderdale.gov.uk to discuss any access needs.
